The Standard for Professional Stencil Transfer

InkJet Stencils® invented the ink and transfer paper that professional tattoo artists use to apply clean, precise stencils - the foundation of every great tattoo. Our products are purpose-built for the demands of working artists: direct printing to standard inkjet printers, sharply defined lines and, reliable transfer on the first pass.

How It Started

In 2005, our inventor Rusty woke up with his back stuck to the sheets after a new tattoo. Frustrated by the lack of professional-grade aftercare options, he started researching moist wound management and testing solutions on himself and a circle of tattoo artist friends. That led to Tatu-Derm®, a medical grade thin film that protects new tattoos from infection and abrasion.

Along the way, Rusty kept listening. There was a need to improve stencils transfer to the skin. Stick deorerant wasn't optimal. Rusty and our chemist developed the Stencil-prep® formula that neutralizes the pH of the skin to allow the stencil to dye the skin, for a longer staying stencil.

Seeing artists place their iPads on copiers, Rusty was not satisfied with the status quo. Artists should be able to send their images directly from their iPads to an inkjet printer for high resolution stencils.  Rusty solved that too, inventing Inkjet Stencils® - the original professional-grade inkjet tattoo stencil system, protected by two US patents covering both the transfer process and the underlying ink chemistry.

Donna, Rusty's wife, brought her background in technology and supply chain to make sure the product actually reached artists reliably - the right quality, every time.  Rusty and Donna built the business with deep roots in the tattoo community - from convention floors to a worldwide distributor network.

The business continues to be family-owned under current owner Josh, who has extensive experience in printer products and support, and is committed to delivering the same quality of service and support that artists have relied on.
